Engineered Plans
Engineered Plans
VersaTube building and shelter packages have been engineered to withstand wind and snow loads common to many areas. The engineering calculations used to determine load ratings comply with International Code Council IBC-2006 and IBC-2009 (International Building Code) standards.
VersaTube does not represent that all buildings and shelters will meet all wind and snow load requirements in all states and municipalities. Check with your local and/or state building code enforcement office for the appropriate code requirements for your area.
Most building code departments require engineering drawings detailing the construction elements of a structure. Some departments may ask only for the drawings. Others may demand “wet” stamped drawings from an engineer certified in your state. And a few may require the stamped drawings accompanied by an engineering calculations package. Check with your local building code inspector or permitting authority to determine which requirement should be met.
Engineering drawing and calculations packages are available for an additional fee. These packages are ordered directly from VersaTube® Building Systems using the Engineering Package Order Form and an accepted means of payment.
If you determine that the building code requires wind and/or snow loads in excess of those published for standard VersaTube structures, then a custom building or shelter configuration may be required. Contact VersaTube to request a custom quote for your desired building or shelter. However, under extreme conditions VersaTube may not be able to provide certified engineered plans.
