4 Flooring Options for Your VersaTube Carport
A VersaTube Carport is a great investment for protecting any vehicle, whether it’s your daily driver, your vacation RV, or even your boat! If you’ve decided to bring one home to protect your vehicle, you may be wondering what type of floor you can install.
When you get down to it, you have 4 flooring choices for your new carport. Use this breakdown to help you decide which makes the most sense for you:
Dirt
While we wouldn’t recommend a prepared bare earth floor for some larger structures, it’s a perfectly acceptable choice for a carport. This option is the most budget-friendly. Keep in mind though that a dirt foundation can mean dry, dusty ground, or that you’re dealing with mud when it’s wet. Even drips from your freshly washed car can make a mess you might get tired of working around.
Gravel
More finished in appearance than a dirt floor but still budget friendly, a gravel foundation might be the perfect choice for your carport. Water drains away, so it won’t pose any of the weather-related problems of an earthen floor, making it easy to keep your carport (and vehicle) clean.
Asphalt
Asphalt is a great choice for any VersaTube structure, and you’ll love the finished look it gives to your carport while being less expensive than concrete. It’s quick to install and requires very little drying time. It also an eco-friendly choice, as it’s recyclable - should you decide to relocate your VersaTube carport in the future, the asphalt can be crushed and reused.
Concrete
The biggest impact on your budget, but also the most durable and long lasting, concrete is always an excellent flooring option for any VersaTube building. It requires the least amount of upkeep and is a worry-free choice.
In general, for a VersaTube carport, you can’t go wrong with any of these choices. And remember, no matter what flooring you choose we always recommend concrete footings and piers for the best results.
