3 Creative Uses for an Off-House Structure
Looking for creative uses for an off house shelter? Learn three great things you can do with your VersaTube steel building system.
Everyone likes to get their hands dirty by building something now and again, but once you’ve tacked the addition on the house, built a shed, erected a steel carport, and raised a barn, what else is there left to do? Here are a few creative ideas to keep in mind for your next project.
Something for the KidsCall it a playhouse, fort, or whatever, building a structure for and with your kids not only provides them with something fun to do with their time; it also makes you a great parent.
Purchase a steel building kit (which makes construction literally a snap) and let your kids help in the planning—how big the rooms will be, where on the property it will go, how many doors and windows. And try to think of fun features that you know they’ll enjoy. Maybe add in a secret entrance or a slide from one of the windows. Get creative. Your kids will appreciate it.
Man-CaveIf the kids get their fort, you deserve your man-cave.
Build yourself a little spot out of the house where you can work on projects, drink beer, watch TV, and get away from it all in general. Just like with the fort for the kids, get creative. Add in anything you think will make your escape spot better. For some that might mean a stereo system. For others, a good place for brewing beer. It’s your man-cave—Do what you want with it.
Indoor GardenWhether you want to make a greenhouse or a hydroponic set up, having an indoor garden is a great way to grow produce, especially if you live someplace where it gets cold. And a garden is something that the whole family can enjoy as you teach your kids how to plant and grow different vegetables. Growing your own food can also save a few bucks on the grocery bill, which is never a bad idea.
