How to Begin Restoring Old Cars
Hobbies are a healthy way to spend your free time and can actually help to improve your mental and physical health, and with all the things you could choose to do, restoring old cars is one of the best. Not only will you constantly learn new and useful things about the restoration process, your Versatube garage will ensure your hobby is always available to you, rain or shine.
Pick your Project
When you’re just starting out, some cars will be easier to learn on than others depending on how they are built. Another thing to consider is if their parts are currently being produced. Pick a car that you know you’ll be able to easily find what you need and that is also put together fairly simply. A few good classic cars to get started with are: Mustangs (1964-1968), Chevy Camaros (1967-1969), and Chevy Novas (1968-1970). These cars have a wide fan base so information is readily available, and they also still have parts being produced.
Start your Engines
After you select your perfect car and do your research, all that’s left is to pick up your wrench and get started. You’ll need a spacious work area, like a Versatube garage, to protect your car from the elements and to safely store your parts and tools. Take out the battery and empty the car of gas, making sure to take lots of “before” pictures for progress references and enjoy getting down in the oil and grease.
