4 Flooring Options for Your VersaTube Garage

by VersaTube Marketing on August 21, 2019

Adding a VersaTube garage to your home is a great way to free up space in your main garage, to add a car to your family fleet, or even to start up your dream workshop if you are a hobbyist. One of the main considerations when planning to build your new garage is the type of flooring to install. Luckily, you don’t need a long-term solution from the get-go, since VersaTube buildings are so easy to deconstruct and erect. If you are working on a budget, you can always start with a temporary floor and then put in a permanent one later. Here are the 4 main flooring options for your VersaTube garage:

Concrete

A concrete floor is a permanent and durable option for your garage. It is easy to keep clean and it provides the best anchoring for your structure. Concrete is great because you can easily add a finish like epoxy or concrete stain for a gorgeous sheen worthy of your most prized vehicle. Vinyl flooring can also be installed on concrete to prevent stains from oils and road salts. You can even put snap-together rubber matting down to protect your floor.

Asphalt

Asphalt is a solid choice for permanent flooring. You might still need concrete footings to anchor your structure, but asphalt looks great and it’s fairly easy to maintain. You may want to consider sealing your asphalt floor to keep it clean.

Gravel

Gravel, while not as firm as asphalt or concrete, is a cheap flooring solution for your garage. You will most likely need to add concrete footing if you elect to go with gravel. One of the advantages of gravel is that it is semi-resistant to flooding.

Earth

You can use earth for your garage floor, just make sure that it is hard enough to support your car and that it isn’t in a low-lying area, so it won’t flood during the rainy seasons. A VersaTube garage is so easy to take down and rebuild that you can always choose a more permanent flooring type down the road.
