·     Earth – Yes, you can build your VersaTube shed directly on the dirt as long as it is properly secured with concrete footing. If you choose to go this route, make sure that you aren’t building at the bottom of a natural slope or any place where water will gather. You should also know a little bit about the local soil, if it is hard or soft, rocky or full of clay, etc. 

·     Gravel – Lay gravel down as your foundation and build your structure on top. You will still need structural support in this case but choosing gravel as your floor is a great way to save money while providing a cleaner, more stable environment than earth. Gravel is perfect for parking outdoor vehicles like ATV’s or as a storage space for outdoor equipment.

·     Asphalt – Lay down an asphalt foundation or build your VersaTube building on your pre-existing driveway and you will have a solid floor that will last for eons. Asphalt is an excellent flooring option for most shed-builders because it is easy to keep clean and it is very stable. 

·     Concrete – Pouring a concrete foundation, while more costly than the flooring options above, is the sturdiest and the most permanent option for your shed. It is great for people who are going to be spending a lot of time in their shed, i.e. as a workshop space, a studio, or a hangout. 

·     Carpet – If you have a concrete foundation, you can easily add carpet to your VersaTube shed to give it a more homey, indoor feel. If you are in a pinch for time you can always lay down a rug for a more temporary flooring solution. With carpet, you will have a softer floor that is easy to keep clean and it will look great!
