Creating Your Own Personal Dance Studio in a VersaTube Building

by VersaTube Marketing on June 14, 2019

Do you dream of having your own personal dance studio at home? Or would you like to install a studio for your dance-loving, always-practicing kid? Do it with VersaTube! One of our sheds, garages, or another structure would be a great choice, and VersaTube is an economical way to get the job done—it’s way less expensive than adding on a timber extension to your home!

For a custom, personal dance studio, you’ve got to have three things: a dance floor, mirrors, and music.

Dance Floor

When building a VersaTube structure that will serve as a dance studio, this is one case you’ll definitely want to go with either an asphalt or concrete floor. Either is perfectly fine for dancing, but if you want, you could go a step further and finish the floor with wood or laminate floors. Not only would a finished floor be a bit easier on your knees and joints, but it will also provide a better idea of how your dancing will look, sound, and feel on a stage.

Mirror

A wall of full-length mirrors is a must for perfecting your technique. For budget-friendly options, attach closet mirror doors to the wall, or you could even lean full length, framed mirrors against it. For a more permanent, finished look, you could choose high-end studio mirrors, like MiraSafe Gym Mirrors.

Music

While music is a definite requirement for a dance studio, almost any option will work well. You can have your finished studio wired for electricity with mounted speakers in all the corners, or you can just pair your phone with a portable speaker. For a single dancer, you could even stick with headphones! It’s completely up to your preferences and budget.

Depending on where you live, and your budget, you might be able to get away with installing your dance studio in a VersaTube building with an unfinished interior, but for comfort we recommend you finish the interior:

  • Add insulation and drywall. An unfinished steel building can be affected by the hot summer sun, freezing winter temperatures, and condensation. All of which is okay if you’re building a tool shed, but for a dance studio, comfort matters!

  • Electricity. A charged Bluetooth speaker may work just fine, but if you want to use other speakers, special lighting, or just be able to use your studio at night, you’ll want to have electric ran
