Garage Storage Solutions

by Stacy Fender on May 04, 2018

So you’ve decided to build a new VersaTube garage. Excellent choice! You won’t find a stronger, easier to build, longer-lasting pre-engineered building system on the market today.

But, you also have some decisions to make - decisions about getting the most out of your new garage. And it all comes down to storage solutions. Lucky for you, we have some clever answers …

Cleaning Tools

You’ll find cleaning tools like brooms, mops, and dustpans in most any garage. But keeping them corralled isn’t always easy. Solve this problem by keeping them on the wall, either by purchasing an organizer designed for his purpose, or making your own with some scrap wood and pipe straps.

Car-Washing Equipment

Keeping all of these items together, and accessible, is a well-known garage nightmare. The solution? A flat-sided feedbucket. Store your sponge, brush, chamois, wash and wax inside, and then hand the bucket on the garage wall.

Rope

No matter what you do, rope tends to get tangled. With itself, and with everything else. Make a nearly free rope dispenser from a coffee can. Just cut a slit in the plastic lid, feed the rope through the slit, tuck the rest of the rope into the can and replace the lid. Done!

Clamps

Clamps are a really handy tool to have around the garage and house. They’re also really difficult to store. Here’s an answer that works wonders: install an inexpensive towel bar in the garage, and clamp your clamps to it.

Workbench on a Budget

Pretty much everyone needs a workbench and cabinets in their garage. But they can be pricey. For a less expensive option, Pick up an old dresser at a secondhand shop or online, and place old tabletops on top for a storage/workbench combo that won’t blow your budget. You can also look for second hand cabinets at local shops that recycle household items.
