VersaTube Building Systems - Flooring And Anchoring
VersaTube structures can be anchored to a concrete foundation set in a prepared ground floor, gravel floor, asphalt floor, or into a concrete slab. And yes, they MUST BE ANCHORED in all cases.
Your specific needs, your new building’s purpose, and your budget will determine the ideal floor choice for you.
Are you going to be working on cars and motorcycles in your new VersaTube building? Do you need your new building to be clean and easy to keep clean? You’ll want a full concrete slab engineered in accordance with the style and size of your building. Bear in mind that the ground must be level for this type of flooring. Your concrete contractor will need to prepare the ground at your build site to achieve flatness, proper water drainage, etc.
When you purchase your new VersaTube Building System, we will provide you with a foundation drawing, detailing the dimensions of the slab you’ll need poured for your project. As you can imagine, full concrete slabs are the most expensive flooring option, but well worth the investment. When you order your VersaTube Building System, simply let us know you are going to be building on a concrete slab and we will include the requisite anchor assemblies.
Are you simply covering a truck, tractor, or a side by side? You could get away with a prepared earth floor - the easiest, most affordable option. Be sure to redirect any water drainage away from your structure. You don’t want to end up with a muddy parking spot!
You might upgrade from a prepared earth floor to a gravel floor with french drains on the outside. That would be a handy, cost effective, DIY option for those of you storing boats, RVs, etc.
With prepared earth, gravel, or asphalt floors, you’ll need to anchor to concrete strip footing or concrete piers in the ground. Again, we’ll provide you with the anchor assemblies you need for your build!
One of the coolest benefits of our slip-fit connection technology is that it allows for our buildings to be disassembled and moved with relative ease. If you initially build on prepared ground, but decide to go with a concrete slab at a later date, the VersaTube structure can always be taken down and re-assembled!
