How to Back a Trailer into Your VersaTube Garage or Carport
So, you got your VersaTube garage or carport assembled, and now you’re standing next to your trailer doing mental calculations, wondering how on earth you’re supposed to back your trailer into the garage. You’re probably thinking assembling the garage was easy compared to what you’re about to do (that’s probably true). But not to worry, this is doable as well!
You’ll have the hang of backing into the garage or carport, plus all sorts of tight spaces, soon enough. We have a little advice to get you started.
Firstt, pull past the drive, as far over to the right as possible. How far past the drive you go depends on the length of your trailer. It’ll take a couple practice runs to nail that part down.
When you’re the correct distance past the drive, swing to the left, putting your hood into the other lane. Then turn tightly back to the right. This maneuver tightens the angle distance between your trailer and positions the trailer to the right of your vehicle.
Now shift into reverse and turn your wheels to the right, (you’re in reverse now, so you’ll turn your steering wheel to the left to turn your wheels right). Let off the brake and ease your trailer backwards. This will create an angle that will help you get it heading straight up the drive. As soon as the trailer is lined up, start gently turning your steering wheel back to the right to maintain your straight line.
The hard part is done and from there you can gently turn the steering wheel to back the trailer up any drive, even a curving one. Don’t worry if it takes you a lot of practice to get the procedure down! You’ll be old-hand at it in no time at all.
