So, you want the strength and easy DIY assembly of a steel building frame kit, but you don’t want the finished structure to look like one of the very mundane looking buildings at your local storage facility? NO PROBLEM!

There’s a common misconception out there that steel buildings all look the same and that steel building kits don’t allow for the kinds of artistic freedoms in the finish that wood frame buildings afford.The truth, even for a novice DIY’er working with a VersaTube steel building frame, the possibilities are endless!

It’s all in the planning…

Do contact us to discuss your plans before you order your VersaTube steel frame. We will adjust the design of your custom building frame or standard building frame kit (if necessary) to bear the weight of anything you may want to use for siding and roofing.

Different interior accoutrements that require additional weight bearing engineering must also be planned for and brought to our attention in advance of your building frame order.

Using light materials? We still need to hear from you in advance of your order! Steel buildings are designed to flex as needed (one of the advantages of using a steel frame instead of wood). We may need to adjust your frame design to minimize flex to prevent siding and sheetrock cracking depending on the materials you select to finish your structure.

Be sure your building plans meet with your HOA regulations. Price out EVERYTHING to be sure you don’t exceed your budget.

Research - If you plan on completing the build yourself, be sure that you have the tools and the skills to pull it off! Otherwise, include the cost of subcontractors’ bids in your overall budget.
