Adding a Lean-To Shelter

Adding a Lean-To Shelter

by Stacy Fender on July 09, 2018

If you care for farm animals - horses, pigs, goats, chickens and the like - you know the importance of good shelter. In cooler climates, you must provide a place to keep them snug and warm in the winter months. A place where they can get out of the sleet and snow, and be protected from the howling winter winds. If you’re in a hotter locale, a barn is still incredibly important as a place to seek protection from monsoon rains and the baking sun.

But protection from the weather isn’t the only factor in caring for your animals, of course. To keep them healthy, you’re going to have to muck out those stalls, and provide your flock (or herd or passel or whatever) with plenty of fresh air, often while still offering some protection from the elements. And there’s one really great way to do that - by adding a lean to shelter to your existing barn.

With a VersaTube barn, adding a lean to kit is incredibly easy. It’s our Slip-Fit Technology and pre-engineering that make it possible. Simply choose the kit that makes the most sense for your needs, and in only 14 days we’ll have it shipped to your building site. Gather a couple of friends or hire a contractor, and in just a couple of days your lean-to will be ready to use. It really is that simple.

Then your animals can enjoy all the fresh air they want and need in the barnyard while under the protective cover of a lean to made from American steel.

If you don’t have a gang or a litter or a pack of animals to care for, a lean to can still be a really useful addition to an existing structure. We have many customers who use them to store wood for their wood stoves, for tools and other equipment, or even as easily accessible open storage for all the kids’ bikes, scooters and other outdoor toys.

Steel lean tos are durable, affordable and virtually maintenance free. Choose yours today!
