Barn dances, Barn weddings, Barn parties of all sorts have always been popular, all across America.

Today, barn venues are as popular as ever. There’s something nostalgic about the rustic ambiance of a barn that touches even the most modern, millennial city dudes.

Barn weddings are very much in vogue these days. So much so that people are spending some serious cash retrofitting old existing barns and erecting new, state of the art replicas complete with all of the amenities you’d expect at a fine restaurant.

Some folks with space to spare on their home properties have built “barns” for the express purpose of hosting events. For many, it’s a great business that’s both lucrative and fun - husbands can handle the maintenance while wives can get involved in the wedding planning.

A couple of years ago, my best friends were married at such a place. A family with a few acres to spare built an event barn and landscaped the surrounding area. The husband and wife helped with the coordination of wedding day events while their sons assisted with parking and other logistical things. These folks marketed themselves well and were booked out as often as they wanted to be.

What a phenomenal way for some folks to make some extra money, if not a lot of money.
