The Pitcher

by Stacy Fender on May 08, 2018

It started when he was small. Tiny, really. Looked like a bobblehead running the bases, that little body and that batting helmet on his head. They all looked like that at that age, though. Funny.

You get a little emotional when you think about those days. Who could help it? He was what? Three? Four? It started as something to do in the summer. Sure, you hoped he’d grow to love the game but mostly, you wanted him to have fun.

Remember that first season his t-ball team had three first basemen because he and his two friends wanted to be together? Memories like that never fade.

Baseball was something you could do together, teaching him the basics of the game. Run through first. Don’t slide head first. How to swing the bat. Hours and hours playing catch in the backyard. Fundamentals. Talking it though. Baseball is, after all, a thinking man’s game.

When it was time, you taught him how to pitch. The grip. The wind-up. The stretch. Now, he’s a pitcher. Fastball. Slider. Change-up. And he works at it, hard. Because he loves it, and he loves the game.

Most weekends during the season now, you’re on the road. Travel ball is like that. Lots of hotels, lots of restaurants. You know every baseball complex in 300 miles - and a few that are further than that. But when you’re home, he’s working. Exercising his body, and working on his game. Now, you want to make that as easy as possible for him, so he can workout and practice any time, in any weather, with a practice facility in your backyard.

With a VersaTube building, it couldn’t be easier. Design your own steel building to the exact dimensions you need, and we’ll ship it straight to your building site. Add insulation and climate control and you’ll have a year-round practice facility just steps from your house. It’s the convenience your son needs to take his game to the next level.
