So you’ve already decided on a steel building for your new garage, carport, shed or other structure. That’s fantastic news - you’ve made an excellent choice. Before you commit to your purchase, though, there are few final items you really should give you e extra thought and attention to, in order to get the absolute most out of your building and ensure you are completely satisfied with your purchase.

Costs

Make sure you fully understand the costs of your project. This isn’t just the costs of your building kit, but the costs of everything it will take to get your building completed, from the ground up. You may have permitting fees from your local planning and zoning office. You may need to have heavy equipment work done to level the ground. What about the foundation of the building? There are likely to be additional costs associated with that as well. Then, consider how you choose to finish your building - Interior sheetrock with insulation? Electricity? Climate control? - all items to factor into your total.

Time

While we can have a standard VersaTube kit delivered to your building site in as little as 10 days and custom kits in just a little bit longer, that’s not the total amount of project time you’re going to need. Consider: Many of the items you planned for during your budgeting phase are going to take time, too. Dirt work, foundation laying, electric, etc - that all adds days to your project. Then, there’s the time it will take to assemble your building.

VersaTube buildings are pre-engineered to go together quickly and easily. Many kits can be assembled in just a couple of days with a little help. Larger kits do take more time, and of course, the more people you have on the job, the faster it will go.

Experience

Be honest with yourself. Not everyone has construction experience or ability - and that’s OK! If you don’t, but you still plan to tackle this project, just understand it’s going to take you a little longer to complete. Or, you can hire an experienced contractor to assemble your building for you. Many of our customers do. Either approach is fine.
