A high-quality VersaTube Shed is an investment, so it makes sense to consider every opportunity to protect it. As you finish your building, you may be asking yourself, “does my VersaTube shed need gutters?” The short answer is “no”. Your shed will not come with gutters and most of our customers choose not to add gutters onto their VersaTube building. That said, if you have plenty of room in your budget, gutters do provide some benefits you might want to consider.

Physical Comfort

Do you need to enter and exit your shed frequently all year long? If so, gutters could funnel rainwater away from your door so as you enter you’ll have a bit more shelter. Handy if you’re carrying large boxes and tools into your shed! 

Gutters Offer a Layer of Protection for Your Interior 

Gutters provide a nice, neat route for runoff water, which prevents most of it from running down the exterior walls of your shed. While that water won’t do a thing to damage your VersaTube building, it does have a talent for finding worn seals around windows and doors. Over the years, weathering seals are bound to need updating. When it does happen that the weathering is worn, gutters will help protect against water sneaking in through worn seals, so you have plenty of time to update the weathering without worrying about a leak around your windows. 

Gutters Can Protect Your Landscaping 

Are you building a she-shed with an eye-catching walkway and landscaping design? Or maybe your VersaTube is going to be a potting shed, right in the middle of your prized plants. Even though all plants need water, too much is never a good thing. So if every time it rains, water rolls off your roof onto your favorite rose bush, your roses aren’t going to thrive. In this case, a guttering system that directs water away from your plants, so YOU can decide how much and when they need to be watered might be handy. 

One of the great things about buying a VersaTube shed is that, unlike a wood building, it’s impervious to water! This means, for most of our customers, a gutter system isn’t needed. However, in some instances, gutters can be a nice addition.
