Landscaping Around Your VersaTube Shed

by VersaTube Marketing on August 28, 2019

Whoever said “a shed is just a shed” clearly hasn’t heard of VersaTube! Your VersaTube shed might be your workshop, art studio, storage space, or lounge area on the inside, but what about the outside? You can easily transform your shed’s exterior into a lush landscape budding with gorgeous flowers, shrubs, seasonals, succulents, and more. Better yet, you don’t need to have a green thumb to make your garden grow with these easy to maintain landscaping ideas:

Wraparound Hedging

Hedging is low maintenance and it can make your shed look fantastic! Install two planter boxes, one on either side of the shed door for symmetry. Plant a few of these awesome hedge plants:

  • Dwarf English boxwood – the ‘box’ is evergreen and drought-resistant. It can also live for over 100 years!
  • Weigela – The Weigela blooms multiple times throughout the season. It is a deciduous shrub with pinkish-white fluted flowers.
  • Hydrangea – These fast-growing shrubs are a flower lover’s favorite. They enjoy moderate sunlight and will grow up to 4-6 ft.

Succulent Garden

Succulents are all the rage in the gardening world right now. Rightly so, since they are incredibly easy to maintain, and they don’t mind drought or full sunshine. You can literally plant them in concrete, and they will usually find a way to survive. Pebble or volcanic rock looks much prettier as a garden bed, though. Plus, succulents come in all kinds of weird shapes and colors. Add a little botanical curiosity to the exterior of your shed with these “bizarro world” succulents:

  • Pebbled tiger jaws – This variety looks vicious, but it couldn’t hurt a fly.
  • Baseball plant – The Euphorbia obesa is a bulbous succulent that looks like it’s ready to burst!
  • Graptoveria – These purple-leaved plants are nicknamed the ‘Topsy Debbie’. They will thrive in full sunshine.
