RV Covers With Space for Grilling and Relaxing

by Stacy Fender on August 27, 2018

RV living is a lifestyle choice that more and more people are choosing. Consider it a more functional, mobile, affordable version of the tiny house movement. And while being in an RV full-time comes with a number of benefits (Let’s all cheer those low to non-existent utility bills!), there are certainly challenges, too.

One of the top issues people face is space. You downsize as much as you can, of course. But there’s still all the stuff you need to live, right? Clothes, cooking supplies, books and other entertainment - it all takes up space. Coming up with unique storage solutions is half the fun of the RV life, but eventually, your stuff just starts to spread throughout your living space if you aren’t careful.

Then there’s outdoor storage. Most RVs come with some exterior storage, but depending on where you have your RV parked, you may still need some lawn and garden equipment to care for your land - and a place to keep it.

Another top concern for RVers is protecting their RV from the elements. This can not only keep heating and cooling costs lower, but can help extend the life of your RV. VersaTube offers standard kit steel RV covers, or you can design your own.

When you’re shopping pre-engineered steel RV covers, there are a few things to consider:

  • Do you simply want to place a roof over your RV to protect it from the worst of the weather?

  • Would you be interested in an extended-length RV cover that protects your RV, but also includes covered space that can function as an outdoor living area for relaxing and grilling?

  • Did you know you can add transparent sides and large windows to your shelter? This will let as much light as possible into your RV, while also blocking the maximum amount of wind in the winter.

  • Building a slightly wider shelter will allow you to construct additional covered storage. Or, you can add a lean-to to your shelter to store outdoor equipment.

Once you’ve decided what you want out of you RV shelter, you can use our Design Your Own tool to build it, or contact us for assistance. We’ll have your frame to your building site in a few weeks. Whether you choose to construct your shelter yourself or hire a contractor, our Slip-Fit Technology means it can be ready to house your RV in a couple of days. It’s that easy.
