Building Tips from the Pros

by Stacy Fender on August 20, 2018

When you decide you’re ready to move forward with a pre-engineered steel building, you’re ready for the project to move. And that’s the great thing about this type of construction - compared to traditional methods, they can cost about half as much and be done in about half the time.

But if you want things to go as smoothly as possible, it helps if you’re prepared, and if you’re ready and willing to put in a little effort, too.

Get your plan together

Think through the timeline for your project, and how you’re going to finance it. (And remember, we offer convenient financing through Bread.) Planning to put your building together yourself, with a little help from your friends? Make sure you’ve talked to them and you know when they’re available to assist. Now is the time to think about your permits, too. Call your local planning and zoning office to find out what permits are needed - if the permit process becomes lengthy (not unheard of) - you don’t want to be stuck waiting.

Be available

VersaTube offers a wide variety of standard kits. But sometimes you need a custom kit to fit your needs. When you go this route there are a number of decisions that need to be made. While you can make many of them up front there may be times during the process that our team needs to connect with you. The faster you respond, the faster we’ll be able to move your building through the process.

Be prepared for delivery

You won’t be able to begin construction on your building when it arrives if your site isn’t prepared and your foundation isn’t ready. Make sure everything is in place so that when the truck comes you can take delivery of all the components.

The better prepared you are on the front end of your project, the easier it will be to see it all the way through to the end.
