What is Galvanized Steel?
VersaTube Building System structures use only the highest quality, U.S. sourced, galvanized steel tubing. This triple layer of corrosion protection includes:
- • zinc bonding
- • conversion coating
- • clear polymer coating
This triple coating of protection provides a smooth, shiny end product appearance that is unmatched in strength and durability. Salt spray tests have proven this triple coat sealing process resists rust two times longer than any pre-galvanized or electroplated tubing product.
Galvanized sheeting is structural quality carbon steel which meets specific minimum properties for construction. The steel sheets are continuously hot dip coated with a durable protective coating of zinc.
This coating can be formed without flaking or peeling. Punching, brake, or roll forming will not impair their protective qualities. It can be identified by the crystallization patterning on the surface of the sheet (often called a "spangle").
