What is an R-Factor?
The flexibility of a VersaTube Building System makes it simple to install insulation. Choosing the correct insulation requires a bit of research, but if you know about the R-factor and various insulation options, it can be easily accomplished.
An R-Factor is an insulating material's resistance to conductive heat flow. It is measured or rated in terms of its thermal resistance or R-value. The higher the R-value number, the greater the insulating effectiveness will be. The R-value depends on the type of insulation, its thickness, and its density (as defined by the United States Department of Energy).
The R-value of each insulation product will be assigned on a “per inch” measurement.
